TvZERO is a production company founded in 1991 with the aim of investing in the renewal of the audiovisual language, bringing to the general public works of artistic and cultural relevance. Initially focused on the production of documentaries and music videos, over the years TvZERO has incorporated several segments and now focuses exclusively on the production of content for cinema, TV and new media. The production company has become an audiovisual core, integrating professionals of multiple streams: filmmakers, documentarists, graphic artists, musicians and publicity. TvZERO’s most recent works were the film “Nise – The Heart of Madness”, released in 2016 and winner of international prizes such as Best Film at Tokyo International Film Festival, and the TV series “Adoption Chronicals”, both from the director Roberto Berliner. In 2017, the production company will release the films “A man called Death” (Henrique Goldman), “Loveling” (Gustavo Pizzi) and “Gabriel and the Mountain” (Fellipe Barbosa) and the second season of “Adoption Chronicals”.
Roberto Berliner is a filmmaker from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He graduated in journalism and started to direct videos in the 1980’s. He has directed two fiction films: Julio’s Gone (2014) and Nise – The Heart of Madness (2015) and several feature documentaries such as Ruckus at the Circus (2015), Pindorama (2009), Herbert Up Close (2011) and Born to be Blind (2003); the short films Born to be Blind (1998) and Tuning in the inner side (2001); TV Shows such as Street Sounds 1997/2004, Free Jazz – 1996/97; music videos for several brazillian artists and award winning tv commercials in the 1990’s. In 1993, he founded the production company TvZero that became a creative hub for filmmakers and artists in Rio. Berliner’s work has been screened and awarded in festivals such as IDFA, AFI Los Angeles, Tokyo and San Francisco.
Born in Rio in 1976, Rodrigo Letier started his career as a producer of music videos and advertising films. It didn’t take a long time for him to start working in Cinema, as an assistant to filmmaker Murillo Salles, with whom he worked on the film “Seja O Que Deus Quiser” and the Tv Series “És tu Brasil”. In 2002 he was invited to create the cinema department at TvZero that at the time was mainly focused in the production of advertising films. There, he was executive producer of the documentaries “Lingua – Life in Portuguese” directed by Victor Lopes and “Born to be Blind”directed by Roberto Berliner, both films were released commercially in theatres. Later, he started to produce several cultural projects such as musical DVDs (Paralamas do Sucesso, Leoni, Bezerra da Silva), tv shows and short films such as “Stray Bullet” by Victor Lopes. Rodrigo was also the executive producer of the documentaries “Pindorama – The True Story Of The Seven Dwarves” (IDFA 2007), “Simonal – No One Knows How Tough It Was” (SIFF 52), “Herbert Up Close” (BAFICI 11) and “Straight to the Point” (DOCLISBOA 11). In 2011 Rodrigo entered the fray of fiction producers with the film “Bruna Surfer Girl” (dir. Marcus Baldini), a national blockbuster which sold more than 2 million tickets and, “Lady of the Images”(dir. Roberto Berliner), shot in January 2012.
